Boyer, Alex Alex Boyer is a Huntington native and long-time soccer veteran in this region. He played for Huntington St. Joseph's and Cabell Midland High Schools under coaches Sam Hood and Jack DeFazio, respectively. As a young athlete he played for the Soccer Shop Rowdies, the predecessor to the WV Rowdies Soccer Club, itself the predecessor to the WV Soccer Club. In addition to his current training work with the WV Soccer Club he is the Assistant Coach of the Cabell Midland High School Girls Soccer team. Dejneka, Pedro Pedro Dejneka is a native of Londrina, Brazil, where he played competitive soccer with teams such as the junior squad of Londrina Esporte Clube. He came to the US as an exchange student in 1996 and played soccer for Ohio Valley University, serving as team captain all 4 years. While at Ohio Valley he was the team's leading scorer and MVP for 3 years, and he still holds the OVU record for most goals (4) and points (8) in a single game (vs. Taylor University, 1998). Durrenburger, Chad Chad Duernberger, a native of Belle, WV, was named West Virginia's "Forward of the Year" in 2001 while playing at South Charleston High School. He was four-time WVIAC All Conference Selection while playing for the University of Charleston from 2002-2005 and was a forward for the West Virginia Chaos PDL team during the summer of 2006. Gray, Bob Bob Gray, Head Coach for the Marshall University Thundering Herd Men's Soccer Team, has more than 30 years of experience as a soccer coach at the collegiate level, including work with Alderson-Broaddus College and the University of Mobile before joining the Herd in 1994. He was named the NSCAA Coach of the Year in 1991 and the Conference-USA Coach of the Year in 2005. He chairs the player selection committee for the UMBRO Collegiate All-Star Game and the selection committee for the MLS Player Combine. He holds a USSF "A" coaching license, the highest level of coaching certification available, and is a member of the USSF National Instructional Staff. Mirtsekis, Niko Niko Mirtsekis, a native of Greece, joined the WVSC coaching staff in the Spring 2006 season after moving from the Chicago area where he coached for the STP Soccer Club in Darien, Illinois, and the Illinois Olympic Development Program (ODP). He also served as an Assistant Coach for Concordia University. Prior to his coaching career he played professional soccer for fifteen years in Greece, including ten years in the Champions League, three appearances in the UEFA Cup and one season with the Greek Men's National Team. In the United States he played with the Milwaukee Rampage A-League and the Rockford Raptors C-League teams. He holds a USSF "B" license and an NSCAA Youth Diploma. Nissim-Sabat, Michael Michael Nissim-Sabat is a native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and a 2003 graduate of Mary Washington College, where he played four years at center midfielder, serving three years as team captain. He earned Scholar-Athlete All-American honors twice while at Mary Washington. He served as an Assistant Coach for the men's soccer team at Roanoke College in 2004 and is currently the Assistant Coach of the Marshall University Thundering Herd Men's Soccer Program. Underwood, Peter Peter Underwood, a native of London, England, started as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Marshall University Thundering Herd Men's Soccer Program during the Fall 2006 season. Prior to that he was an Assistant Coach with the Concord University Women's Soccer Program and a coach for the East River Soccer Club in Bluefield, WV. He also serves on the coaching staff of the WV Olympic Development Program (ODP).
